MICHEL LAWRENCE
Director/Producer/Writer

Michel Lawrence has been a journalist (The Australian), a Band Manager (The Bushwackers), an Advertising Executive (J.Walter Thompson) a portrait photographer (The National Portrait Gallery) and more recently a Film and Video producer with his Miro Films Pty Ltd.

As an agency Executive Creative Director, Michel has worked on some of the world’s biggest corporations, household names such as Ford Kraft, Kodak, Shell and Australian retail giants such as Myer, Coles, Safeway (now Woolies) and Beaurepaires, the global publisher, News Corp and Australian fashion retailer, Sussan.
As Director/Producer/Writer, Michel has created a large block of film for a wide range of organisations such as The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, The Australian Defence Forces, The Victorian Law Institute and the Philanthropic organisations The Naomi Milgrom Foundation and The Scanlon Foundation.

Michel also self-produced the Arts television program InsideArt firstly on public broadcast network Channel 31 before moving to Foxtel in 2016.

Michel has also held a number of external positions:

 President Melbourne Advertising and Design Club and Chairman of Awards 1988 -1989
• Committee member of The Melbourne Press Club 1995–2000
• The Australia Day Committee 2003–2006
• Premier’s Committee for the Construction of The Melbourne Recital Centre 2005–2006
• Consultant to The Australian Government for the Advertising Program for the launch of NBN, 2009.

BILL BURROWS
Design Director

Bill Burrows is a multi-award-winning designer with a practice spread across the traditional graphic design fields of publishing, corporate branding, packaging and financial reports. He also has a broad ranging history in digital, multi-media, video production and television.

Bill and Michel have worked together for many years, beginning in the mid-1970s with their highly successful publishing venture Swell Productions, producing Australia’s first skateboard magazine, Slicks. Together they also produced a large body of work in the entertainment fields with record sleeve design, music and event promotions and the pioneering comedy-theatre restaurant, The Last Laugh.

With a growing list of mainstream clients Bill and Michel formed the design company, St John Lawrence Burrows which eventually morphed into Burrows Doble Lawrence, a successful advertising agency working with Australian and international clients such as The Australian Wool Corporation, BP, Control Data (large scale computing) and East Coast Jeans.

In 2001 Bill founded Burrows Interactive Design, an independent Digital Creative Agency which specialises in Concept and Design and technical development – Brand Identity, Content creation, Web Design & development, Digital Magazine design, Corporate and Investor Communications design.

MARK HARRISON
DOP / Editor

Mark Harrison has extensive experience in the video production and post production sectors. He has been managing his own multi-faceted production company, NBS Productions for more than a decade. He is one of those rare talents who has mastered both production capture using the very latest, high-tech camera equipment as well as the labour intensive, post-production work of editing and compiling productions. He is also highly capable with the very latest in motion-graphics technology which makes him a very valuable asset, offering a holistic approach to filmmaking.
The breadth of Mark’s experience has seen him interview Prime Ministers and business leaders. For clients such as Optus he flies internationally to capture the Optus’ annual employee celebration, ‘Yestival’.
Mark has been engaged by wide ranging number of high profile clients including the Victorian State Government, Optus, Ryobi, and AEG Power tools. Mark has also been instrumental in production on a number of Miro Films productions including for the Law Institute and the Naomi Milgrom Foundation’s MPavilion.
